SICUR 2026 launches SICUR Academia to boost security sector training and talent
SICUR 2026, the International Security Trade Fair organised by IFEMA MADRID, introduced SICUR Academia on its final day — a dedicated space for technical specialisation and youth talent recruitment in the integrated security sector. Speakers stressed the need to raise industry awareness among young professionals to attract and retain talent. A new intermediate vocational qualification, Security Technician, has launched with approximately 150 enrolled students and first graduates expected in June 2026, with expansion planned to Extremadura, Asturias and Madrid. In fire protection, Tecnifuego and CEPREVEN highlighted employment rates near 98%, driven by regulation and innovation, calling for stronger professional certification. The EXO CORNER showcased occupational exoskeleton applications with a decade of experience, while the FORO SICUR presented Spain's digital ID app MiDNI and documentation vehicles (VIDOC) used during the Valencia DANA emergency.
