SICUR 2026 Highlights Women in Security, IoT Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure at 25th Edition

The 25th edition of SICUR 2026, the International Security Trade Fair organised by IFEMA MADRID (February 24-27), addressed several major industry themes on its second day. The Observatorio Mujer y Seguridad presented findings confirming that security remains a male-dominated profession, with female representation growing slowly and unevenly; the study called for mechanisms to accelerate the trend. The SICUR CYBER forum highlighted that IoT devices will double worldwide in the next nine years, with new EU legislation mandating protective measures. On critical infrastructure, CoESS stressed that essential service continuity requires real operational capabilities and structured public-private cooperation. The EXO CORNER space showcased exoskeleton applications for ergonomic risk prevention. SICUR 2026 continues through February 27 with 670+ exhibitors across labour safety, fire/emergency and security sectors.
