Smart City Expo Latam Congress Puts Urban Innovation at the Service of Equity

Smart City Expo Latam Congress (SCELC) holds its 11th edition from June 2 to 4, 2026 in Puebla, Mexico, with a program focused on how urban innovation can become an engine of shared prosperity. Organized by Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with Pronus and hosted by the Government of the State of Puebla and the city government, the event expects to gather more than 8,500 attendees, with 120 speakers and the presence of over 220 companies and institutions, consolidating its position as an essential meeting point on smart cities in Latin America. Under the slogan 'Urban innovation, shared prosperity', the congress will structure its program around five major themes: digital innovation, equitable society, sustainable environment, economic prosperity, and mobility and urban space. Featured speakers include Guatemalan indigenous leader Rigoberta Menchú, 1992 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, along with Rosario Marin, former Treasurer of the United States, and Fernanda Lonardoni, UN-Habitat representative for Mexico, Cuba and Central America. The program will include a new edition of the Latam Smart City Awards and the National Mayors' Meeting promoted by INAFED, which will bring together thousands of mayors from across Mexico. SCELC is part of Fira de Barcelona's 2026 international calendar, which includes Smart City Expo editions in Curitiba, Doha, Santiago del Estero, Santiago de Chile and Cali.
