Smart City Expo World Congress presents its next edition in Madrid with ICEX backing

The Madrid headquarters of ICEX, Spain's foreign trade institute, hosted the presentation of the next edition of Smart City Expo World Congress, the leading global event on smart cities and urban solutions. The session was organised by ICEX together with Red.es, the Spanish Network of Smart Cities (RECI) and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), and drew more than a hundred professionals, companies and institutions. Gonzalo Navarro Hernández, ICEX director of infrastructure and industrial technology, and Ugo Valenti, director of SCEWC, took part, with talks on the role of cities in economic and social development and on how an event such as Smart City Expo drives a new sustainable urban paradigm. Industry representatives also spoke, including Marek Zmrzlik, head of CzechTrade in Spain, Javier Elizalde Giro, CEO of Salvi Lighting, and other sector executives.
