João Hébil of Manitou named president of the SMOPYC organising committee as the show confirms 2026 results

SMOPYC held the final meeting of the organising committee for its 20th edition at Feria de Zaragoza to review the results of the April 2026 show. The meeting formalised the appointment of João Hébil, Managing Director Spain & Portugal at Manitou, as the new president of the SMOPYC organising committee. The committee confirmed growth across every indicator: 62,124 professional visitors, up 23.2% on the previous edition; 107,383 square metres of occupied space, 26.7% more than in 2023; and 1,055 exhibitors from 31 countries, a 28% increase. Note that these country and area figures differ slightly from those AFE published at the close of the show in April, which cited exhibitors from 32 countries and a 26.3% rise in space.
