SMOPYC Devotes Its Third Day to the Future of the Sector

SMOPYC 2026, Feria de Zaragoza's trade fair for construction, public works and mining machinery, devoted its third day to generational renewal and digitalization. The New Talent Day gathered nearly two hundred secondary-school students from seven schools at the Innovation Hall, where they attended Hydromec's presentation "The construction sector today: innovation, technology and professional opportunities" and discovered career paths ranging from engineering, surveying and geotechnics to site management, digitalization and specialized machinery operation. In parallel, FENAEX held its General Assembly; ANMOPYC hosted the session "Market surveillance: guaranteeing machinery conformity" on compliance with European legislation; the CTN-UNE 115 standardization committee held its plenary; and the final Innovation SMOPYC Talk examined safety technologies: accident detection and prevention systems, machine vision, advanced operator assistance and work-zone protection. The CITOP engineering college closed the conference program with a session on innovation and digitalization in public-works machinery. On Saturday the 18th, the round table "The future of construction: talent, innovation and transformation" will bring together five content creators, moderated by show director Luis Fueyo and Feria de Zaragoza's industrial area head Arancha Morquecho, capping the 20th edition.
