Stéphane Rolland Turns Barcelona Bridal Night into a Tribute to Love
French couturier Stéphane Rolland dazzled at the tenth edition of the Barcelona Bridal Night gala, within Fira de Barcelona's Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week (BBFW) 2026, with his first runway show in Spain. Under the title "Love for Peace", Rolland and his partner Pierre Martinez, in charge of artistic direction, staged a ceremony of haute couture, music, art and poetry at Hall 8 of the Montjuïc venue. The evening opened with 23 designs by students from IED Barcelona, LCI Barcelona and ESDI, mentored by Rolland himself within the Sculpted by Nature project using fabrics donated by Catalan textile firm Gratacós. Then, before more than a thousand guests, the couturier presented 80 pieces, including his new bridal prêt-à-porter collection "Noce de Sang" and iconic red-carpet gowns, with Nieves Álvarez and Ariadna Gutiérrez among the models. The Barcelona Young Symphony Orchestra — 65 musicians conducted by Carlos Checa — performed works from Chopin to Falla, while actress Nathalie Poza recited Prévert, Gardel and Piaf. Rolland also donated 22 original sketches to raise funds for the Kálida Foundation, which supports cancer patients. BBFW 2026 runs until Sunday, with its trade show gathering nearly 420 brands from 37 countries.
