Apollo Funds Complete Acquisitions of Emerald and Questex, Creating a Scaled B2B Experiential Events and Media Platform
Apollo has announced that Apollo-managed funds have completed the acquisitions of Emerald Holding, Inc. and Questex, LLC, bringing the two complementary businesses together into a B2B experiential events and media platform with greater scale and expanded capabilities. As previously announced, Paul Miller has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of the combined company and Hervé Sedky has moved to senior advisor. The combined company also named its wider executive leadership team: Vince DiMaggio as Chief Financial Officer, Issa Jouaneh as Chief Operating Officer, Kate Spellman as Chief Commercial Officer, Kurt Nelson as Chief Talent Officer, and Sara Altschul as Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary. The two companies will be fully integrated over the coming months. Apollo Managing Director Shahid Bosan said the transaction combines two market leaders with iconic brands and deep customer relationships into a platform positioned to accelerate organic growth and invest in innovation. Miller called the day an exciting milestone as the business embarks on a new chapter as one company. With completion, Emerald common stock has ceased trading and is no longer listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and Emerald stockholders are receiving 5.03 US dollars per share in cash. Goldman Sachs acted as exclusive financial advisor to Emerald.
