11th Belt and Road Summit Closes with Focus on Central Asia and Middle East Markets

The 11th Belt and Road Summit, co-organised by the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), closed in Hong Kong on 10 September after two days. It drew more than 6,200 government and business figures from over 70 countries and regions, showcased more than 300 investment projects worth over US$5.4 billion in total, arranged over 800 one-on-one project matching meetings and yielded more than 60 memoranda of understanding and agreements, with over 120 exhibitors in the exhibition zones. This edition introduced its first chapter dedicated to enterprises going global, alongside dedicated Central Asia and Middle East chapters. Enver İskurt, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye, said Hong Kong investors, financial institutions and engineering firms could contribute at every stage of the Ankara-Istanbul high-speed rail project, from financing to engineering solutions.
