China Import and Export Fair Set Overseas Buyer Records in 2025, with More Than 310,000 at the 138th Session

The China Import and Export Fair, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, is held twice a year in Guangzhou. The 137th session ran from 15 April to 5 May 2025 and the 138th from 15 October to 4 November 2025, each covering 1.55 million square metres of exhibition space. The 137th session drew 288,938 overseas buyers from 219 countries and regions. Emerging markets remained the largest source: buyers from Belt and Road partner countries numbered 187,450, up 17.4% and 64.9% of the total and the single largest bloc at the spring session. A total of 140 trade and business organisations attended in delegations, up 17.6% on the previous session, and 376 leading multinational buying companies took part, a record for the fair. The 138th session attracted more than 310,000 overseas buyers from 223 countries and regions, 7.5% more than the previous session and another record, including 214,000 from Belt and Road partner countries, up 9.4% year on year.
