China Staged 103 Self-Organised Exhibitions Abroad in 2025 as Turnover Rose 19.09%

Chinese organisers staged 103 self-organised exhibitions abroad in 2025 under CCPIT approval, four more than in 2024 and equivalent to 8.18% of all outbound exhibition projects for the year. Together these events occupied 241,800 square metres of exhibition space, drew 17,700 participating companies and used 26,300 booths, up 6.58%, 2.84% and 5.28% respectively on the previous year. Average figures per event moved in the opposite direction: floor space averaged 2,347.6 square metres per event, participating companies 171.7 and booths 255.6, down 14.12%, 17.14% and 15.16% respectively, so individual events became leaner even as the overall programme grew. The commercial result nonetheless improved sharply, with total turnover at these self-organised exhibitions rising 19.09% year on year and average turnover per event rising 14.16%. Self-organised exhibitions are events that Chinese bodies mount abroad in their own right, rather than group participations in someone else's trade fair, and they remain a small but growing part of the outbound programme.
