China's Operating Exhibition Venues Rise to 224 in 2025 as It Retains the World's Largest Indoor Exhibition Space

China had 224 exhibition venues in active operation in 2025, up 17.89% from 190 in 2024, as the venue market continued to expand; the count covers purpose-built venues that hosted at least two trade and economic exhibitions during the year. Measured by annual exhibition floor space, 21 venues fell in the 600,000 to 1 million square metre band, ten more than a year earlier and a rise of 90%. Venues above 1 million square metres numbered 32, or 14.29% of the total, down 7.71 percentage points, while those below 100,000 square metres numbered 136, or 60.71%, up 28.71 percentage points. Thirty-nine venues, 17.41% of the total, staged 30 or more exhibitions during the year. According to UFI's World Map of Exhibition Venues 2025 edition, China's total indoor exhibition space stood at 13,662,200 square metres at the end of 2024, ranking first worldwide and accounting for 30.9% of the global total.
