China's Trade Exhibitions Hit Record High in 2025 with 4,095 Events and 159 Million Square Metres

China staged 4,095 trade and economic exhibitions over the course of 2025, covering a total of 159.07 million square metres of exhibition space, up 6.53% and 2.5% year on year respectively and both all-time highs. The count is limited to trade and economic exhibitions of 2,000 square metres or more held in purpose-built exhibition venues, and spans all 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions of the Chinese mainland. By region, the east hosted 2,702 events, or 65.98% of the national total; the west 631 events, up 14.94%; the central region 620 events, up 11.51%; and the northeast 142 events, down 7.19%. By size, mid-small shows of 10,000 to 30,000 square metres rose to 2,238, up 24.26%, and large shows above 100,000 square metres rose to 222, up 15.03%. By sector, industry and technology remained the largest single category, with 896 events accounting for 21.87% of the national total by event count.
