26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade Debuts Dual Guest Countries and Dual Guest Provinces

The 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) runs from 8 to 11 September in Xiamen, Fujian province, drawing registrations from more than 1,200 official government bodies and business delegations from 129 countries and regions and from 30 international organisations. At a press conference on 6 September, Yu Guangsheng, deputy director-general of the Investment Promotion Agency of China's Ministry of Commerce, said the edition offers 200,000 sqm of exhibition space and 14 specialised zones, with 46 themed activities and 52 project roadshows; the "China Investment" zone expands to nearly 20,000 sqm and the finance zone doubles in size. For the first time the fair has named two guest countries of honour, Finland and Saudi Arabia, and two guest provinces, Guangdong and Qinghai. Li Yanna, counsellor at the Embassy of Finland in China, said it is the first time Finland has taken part in CIFIT with a national pavilion; Qinghai has built a 720 sqm themed pavilion.
