Guest-of-honour province Guangxi holds services trade cooperation promotion event for ASEAN at 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services

On 9 September 2026, Guangxi, guest-of-honour province of the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), held an ASEAN-oriented services trade cooperation promotion event at Shougang Park in Beijing. It was co-hosted by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region with the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and the People's Government of Hainan Province, and attended by about 600 guests including ASEAN diplomats in China and representatives of companies, business associations and financial institutions. A China–ASEAN digital trade development report and other outputs were released at the event, six digital innovation products were showcased and a batch of key services trade cooperation projects were signed; the commerce departments of Guangxi, Beijing and Hainan signed a joint initiative establishing a mechanism to deepen services trade cooperation with ASEAN, and the joint building of a services trade opening-up and cooperation hub for ASEAN was launched on site. CIFTIS 2026 marked Guangxi's first appearance as an independent guest-of-honour province, with a "1+1+4" programme of activities and a Guangxi pavilion focused on China–ASEAN AI cooperation.
