CIIE delegation promotes ninth edition in Macao
A CIIE working group led by Wu Zhengping, deputy director of the China International Import Expo Bureau and chairman of the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, held promotion activities in Macao on 26 and 27 January 2026, meeting officials of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Economic and Technological Development Bureau to encourage more Macao institutions and companies to take part in the 9th CIIE. Wu said the expo has been held eight times since 2018 and invited Macao participants to expand the scale and scope of their exhibits and bring more local goods, technologies and services to the mainland and global markets. Macao officials said they appreciated the role of the expo in linking Macao with the mainland economy and would step up publicity and organise more institutions and companies to attend, working from Macao positioning as a tourism and leisure centre, a services platform and a base for cultural exchange. The group also met officials of the Liaison Office of the Central People Government in Macao and Nanguang Group. Representatives of Bank of China and ICBC, CIIE partners, joined the activities.
