Diversified puts 20+ staff through EIC's Sustainable Event Professional Certificate at enterprise level
Exhibition organiser Diversified invested in the Events Industry Council's Sustainable Event Professional Certificate at enterprise level rather than for individuals, and more than 20 employees have now earned the certificate. The company says it now has at least one SEPC-certified employee on most of its global event teams. The stated aim was to move sustainability out of a single department or job description and into the day-to-day decisions of event teams, equipping staff to identify opportunities in the field, evaluate trade-offs and ask better questions of vendors and partners. Diversified's sustainability strategy is built on 10 global goals grouped under five action areas: managing emissions, reducing waste, managing resources, caring for communities and strengthening partnerships. Certified employees have contributed across all five. At Fine Food Australia, the company's partnership with OzHarvest collected more than 7,900 kilograms of surplus food. EIC presented the case as an example of certification building organisational capability rather than only individual credentials.
