dmg events and Deutsche Messe sign MoU for new global energy event in 2027
dmg events and Deutsche Messe AG signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly develop a major new global energy exhibition and conference, set to launch in Germany in 2027. The MoU was signed by dmg events president Christopher Hudson and Deutsche Messe chairman Jochen Köckler during the UFI Global Congress in Hong Kong from 19 to 22 November 2025, and marks the start of a broader dialogue on long-term collaboration and possible joint initiatives. The partners framed the platform as a first of its kind convening the entire energy ecosystem, citing global electricity consumption expected to grow around 25% by 2030 and AI and data centres potentially consuming up to 10% of global electricity by then. The venture combines the energy portfolio of dmg events, which includes ADIPEC, Gastech and India Energy Week, with the large-scale industrial and technology exhibition experience of Deutsche Messe and its governmental and institutional networks.
