EAGE Workshop on Exploration: Unlocking New Zealand's Upstream Potential opens as EAGE's first event in New Zealand

The EAGE Workshop on Exploration: Unlocking New Zealand's Upstream Potential opened in Auckland, which EAGE says is its first time on New Zealand soil. Welcome remarks were delivered by Chairperson Anna Kruk-Michot, followed by a Ministerial Address from the Hon. Shane Jones and keynote addresses by James Caldwell and Ranjit Pannu. According to EAGE, the opening day brought together 50 delegates from 29 organisations and 10 countries, and the association describes New Zealand's subsurface story as shifting, with exploration opening up again across petroleum, geothermal and CCUS.
