ESC Congress 2026 returns to Munich with 30,000 participants expected

The ESC Congress of the European Society of Cardiology, one of Europe largest medical conferences, returns to Messe München from 28 to 31 August 2026, the fifth time it has been held in the Bavarian capital. More than 30,000 participants are expected at the Riem exhibition grounds, with the ICM International Congress Center and six exhibition halls reserved for the event. Alongside the full spectrum of cardiovascular medicine, the 2026 edition places special emphasis on the theme of artificial intelligence in cardiology, focusing on how AI could serve as a co-pilot in cardiovascular care. CEOs Reinhard Pfeiffer and Stefan Rummel said the congress reinforces the venue position among the top ten sites for major congresses in Europe and delivers an economic boost to hotels, restaurants, retail and service providers in the city and region, noting that every euro spent at Messe München generates an average of more than ten euros in revenue nationwide.
