Feria de Zaragoza Holds First Organizing Committee Meeting for FIGAN 2027
Feria de Zaragoza convened the first Organizing Committee meeting for FIGAN 2027 on 28 January 2026, officially launching preparations for the 18th edition of Spain's leading international livestock fair, to be held 16-19 March 2027. The committee enters a new strategic phase under the presidency of Ramón Alsina, CEO of bonÀrea Agrupa, a major agri-food company with a vertically integrated model spanning all stages of livestock and food production. Two new members — Piensos Costa and Premier Pigs — have joined the committee, broadening the fair's sectoral representation. Strategic priorities for FIGAN 2027 include reinforcing international missions with commercial offices and producer associations, reviving FIGAN Conecta Talento and FIGAN Jóvenes Ganaderos initiatives to attract new generations and address rural depopulation, hosting Spain's main livestock markets (lonjas), and recognising innovation through the Technology Innovation Contest and Excellence Awards. FIGAN's new president underlined the fair's role as both a business and innovation hub for the livestock sector and its mirror to society at large.
