Foreign exhibitors at Italian trade fairs grew seven percent in 2025 and hold a fifth of the total

Exhibitor numbers at Italian trade fairs rose six percent in 2025 against 2024, and foreign exhibitors rose faster at seven percent, taking their share of the total to twenty percent. On the visitor side the latest consolidated figures are for 2024: roughly 18 million visitors to Italian trade fairs, of whom more than 1.3 million came from abroad. The document notes that 2025 visitor data was still being consolidated at the time of publication. Foreign exhibitors therefore grew faster than the exhibitor base as a whole, and one exhibitor in five at an Italian fair now comes from outside the country. For a company assessing an Italian event, that ratio describes the competitive and partnering environment on the show floor; for a buyer, it means the supply on display is no longer predominantly domestic. The figures were compiled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation from AEFI data.
