Freeman Promotes Chris Schimek to President of Freeman Events & Exhibits
The Freeman Company (TFC) has promoted Chris Schimek to president of Freeman Events & Exhibits, the Dallas-based group's event operations arm. Schimek was previously chief operating officer of the unit and has spent almost 30 years with the company, leading the teams that plan, produce and execute thousands of live events each year. TFC chief executive Janet Dell said operations are the client experience, and that Schimek had built trust with employees, clients and partners over nearly three decades. Schimek said Freeman is his home and that the business would continue investing in its people. Outside the company he is immediate past president of the Exhibition Services & Contractors Association, contributes to the U.S. Travel Association, and was recently appointed an employer trustee for T.E.A.C.H., the Teamsters National Training Trust, working with venues, destination management companies and labour organisations on workforce development. TFC groups event brands including 3D Exhibits, Alford Media, BaAM, Color Gamut, Freeman AV Production, Freeman Events & Exhibit Services, mdg, Sparks and Studio Blue. Freeman itself has a 98-year history in the events business.
