Grand Hyatt Miami Beach Headquarter Hotel Tops Off Beside the Convention Center

Public and private partners marked the topping off on 28 July of the Grand Hyatt Miami Beach, an 800-room headquarter hotel that will connect directly to the Miami Beach Convention Center. Scheduled to open in late 2027, the hotel is intended to let Greater Miami and Miami Beach compete for larger citywide conventions. Located at 17th Street and Convention Center Drive, it will have 12 floors of guest rooms including 50 suites, four floors of meeting and ballroom space totalling 110,000 square feet, an 8,000 square foot rooftop lawn on the fifth-floor amenity deck, 17,000 square feet of retail, and a climate-controlled skybridge to the convention centre. Nearly two thirds of rooms will have balconies. Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau president and chief executive David Whitaker said the hotel's size and its link to the centre have opened the door to dozens of conventions and trade shows that had never considered the destination. Miami Beach Convention Center general manager Freddie Peterson said a connected headquarters hotel was the missing piece following the venue's 640 million US dollar reimagining. Greater Miami and Miami Beach welcomed 28.3 million visitors in 2025. The hotel is developed by Terra and Turnberry, designed by Arquitectonica and built by Balfour Beatty.
