Green Light for Electric Cars at Nuremberg Exhibition Centre

NürnbergMesse has commissioned the 100th electric vehicle charging station at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, completing the infrastructure project to expand charging capacity at the venue. Visitors now have access to 200 AC charging points within walking distance of the exhibition halls, which the company says makes it the frontrunner among German exhibition operators for EV infrastructure. The charging points deliver up to 22 kW and are matched to the average visitor dwell time of about four hours. In the past year alone, visitors completed around 6,700 charging sessions, with roughly 200 MWh drawn from the solar power generated by the company's own photovoltaic system on the roofs of the exhibition halls, described as the largest building-mounted PV installation in which the Bavarian state government holds a stake. The 100th station was inaugurated by Albert Füracker, Bavarian Minister for Finance and Regional Identity and chair of the NürnbergMesse Group supervisory board, alongside vice-chair and Nuremberg mayor Marcus König and group CEO Peter Ottmann. Füracker said the venue has been developed step by step into a hub for modern mobility, while König pointed to the underground connection to the Mitte entrance as a further low-impact travel option.
