IAVM Joins Sports World Congress Advisory Board to Strengthen Global Venue Industry Collaboration

The International Association of Venue Managers has taken a seat on the advisory board of Sports World Congress, an annual business-to-business event held in Barcelona each February that focuses on stadiums, arenas and sports entertainment venues. The move is intended to widen the channels through which venue operators exchange knowledge, and to give the association a voice in a forum where venue technology, design and operations are discussed at an international level. IAVM Chief Executive Officer Trevor Mitchell said joining the advisory board gives the association another opportunity to bring the voice and expertise of venue professionals to an important global conversation. Sports World Congress President Josep M. Monti said the collaboration will help venues become smarter, more innovative and better prepared for the future. The partnership is framed around knowledge sharing, innovation and strategic connections between venues and sports organisations worldwide. For IAVM, whose membership spans convention centres, arenas, stadiums, performing arts venues and amphitheatres, the seat extends its international reach beyond its North American base and into a European forum.
