IMEX Releases Event Sustainability Report for IMEX America 2025

IMEX has published an event sustainability report for the 2025 edition of IMEX America, developed with consultants MeetGreen, assessing the show's environmental performance and setting out learnings for other organisers. For the seventh consecutive year the show kept its zero-waste designation, diverting 90 per cent of its waste stream from landfill and incineration, achieved despite 2025 being the largest edition to date. Water refill stations and coolers eliminated the equivalent of 50,615 plastic bottles, an average of 2.8 per attendee. Carpet use fell by 5,280 square metres, or 14.5 per cent year on year, and 87 per cent of carpet was returned to inventory and stored locally for future shows. Food and beverage menu items were sourced from within a 500-mile radius of Las Vegas. IMEX used isla's TRACE platform more widely across its supply chain, capturing data for 90 per cent of participant air and ground travel, in support of a goal to cut carbon emissions 20 per cent by 2030. A first recovery programme for polyester banners and structural booth materials recovered an estimated 1,133 kilograms of polyester, donated for livestock shade, bedding and cleaning uses. Chief financial officer David Harrison said participant travel remains the largest contributor to event-related emissions. IMEX America 2026 runs 13 to 15 October in Las Vegas.
