INTERSCHUTZ 2026 draws 140,000 visitors and 1,772 exhibitors

INTERSCHUTZ 2026, the leading trade fair for firefighting, rescue services and civil protection, ran in Hannover from 1 to 6 June with around 140,000 visitors from 144 countries, 1,772 exhibitors from 55 countries and about 120,000 sqm of occupied exhibition space. Deutsche Messe chairman Jochen Köckler said customers had asked the organiser to raise the international visitor share and that the goal was met, with the proportion of international visitors almost doubling from 13% in 2015. He said placing civil protection at the heart of the exhibition set the right course early and that the industry response validated the strategy. Köckler pointed to the sector capacity for innovation, the concentration of international decision-makers, strong demand at exhibitor stands and broad public interest as evidence that safety and resilience have gained significance far beyond the professional community. Ahead of the event the organiser had forecast 1,525 exhibitors from 51 nations on 112,463 sqm; the final figures came in above that.
