Italian Meeting Venues Invested in Refurbishment and Training in 2025 and Plan More for 2026

3% of Italian meeting venues were closed for refurbishment during 2025. Among the 454 venues that completed the questionnaire, 83.7% made at least one investment in 2025 and 88.3% plan at least one in 2026. The most common investments in 2025 were staff training at 64.5%, refurbishment of interior spaces at 57.1%, development of promotional and communication tools at 46.6% and upgrades to audio-visual equipment, also at 46.6%. Plans for 2026 follow a similar order: training at 64.1%, interior refurbishment at 56.6%, promotion at 54.1% and audio-visual at 44.1%. Rising clearly on the previous year are refurbishment of outdoor spaces at 36.2% and energy efficiency at 30.4%, followed at lower levels by sustainability certification at 25.2% and the creation of new spaces at 19.7%. On training specifically, 74.0% of the venues planning investment for 2026 name marketing and communication as the priority area, ahead of sales at 44.3%, management at 33.6% and operations at 32.5%.
