Italy's Meeting Industry Has Entered a Consolidation Phase After Three Years of Steady Growth

Between 2022 and 2025 the number of meetings and events held in Italy grew at a compound annual rate of 6.4%, while 2025 itself was broadly flat in total event numbers. The report reads this as the market entering a phase of maturity and consolidation comparable to 2019, but with a significantly different structural size. By area, the post-pandemic period from 2022 to 2025 saw growth above the national average in the South, at 8.1% a year, the Islands at 7.3% and the North West at 7.0%. Over the longer run from 2014 to 2025, only the North West grew clearly, at 2.7% a year, against 0.6% in the South and 0.4% in the Islands, while the North East fell 0.7% a year and the Centre 1.2%. In the foreword the president of Federcongressi&eventi puts the annual value of the sector at 13.2 billion euros; this summary document gives no methodology for that figure, which is the association's own statement.
