2026 Japan Taiwan Excellence Show Generates USD 156 Million in Business Opportunities
The 2026 Japan Taiwan Excellence Show, organised by TAITRA, concluded in Tokyo on 17 July after a three-day run, generating USD 156 million in business opportunities and drawing 22,000 visitors. More than 150 Taiwanese companies exhibited across seven themed zones — AI Manufacturing, Energy Circular Economy, Smart City, Smart Health, Taiwan Excellence, Taste Taiwan, and the Taipei Pavilion — under the theme Innovate for Tomorrow. Chengzhi Technology showcased GPU-free AI solutions, prompting Japan's Hitachi City Industry Support Center in Ibaraki Prefecture to plan a manufacturing delegation visit to Taiwan in October. Nano ceramic film maker Yigao attracted sample requests from a Japanese precision materials supplier, while Taiwan's perovskite solar cell technology drew evaluation interest from a Japanese trading company and a port logistics operator. In healthcare, Ascend Biomedical engaged Japan's top three ophthalmology groups over its contact lens products, and OTOP's braised pork seasoning attracted retail giant AEON. The show's first day featured the Taiwan-Japan AI Technology Forum, attended by Taiwan's Minister of Economic Affairs Kung Ming-hsin and senior Japanese industry, government, academic and research representatives.
