Japan Signs Official Participation Contract for Belgrade Expo 2027 Japan Pavilion, Themed on Play and Connection
On June 10, 2026, Japanese government representative Sachiko Yoshimura signed the official participation agreement for the 2027 Belgrade International Exposition with EXPO 2027 BELGRADE in Belgrade, Serbia. Japanese Ambassador Naohiro Tsutsumi and Serbian Minister of Commerce Radomir Lazarevic attended the signing ceremony. Expo 2027 Belgrade runs May 15 to August 15, 2027, under the theme Play for Humanity. The Japan Pavilion theme is Playing Together, Connecting: Japan Spirit of Play, aiming to bridge cultural divides through Japanese play culture and shared experiences. Two cultural ambassadors were announced: conductor Kenichi Shimura, 2026 Chief Guest Conductor of the Serbian Philharmonic who has performed anime and game music in 300-plus concerts across 52 countries, and musician-mathematician Sachiko Nakajima, who created the Jellyfish Hall at Osaka Expo 2025.
