Belgrade Expo 2027 Japan Pavilion Unveils Cut-Paper Flower Logo Symbolizing Play and Connection Across Cultures
On May 15, 2026, the Japan Pavilion for the 2027 Belgrade International Exposition unveiled its official logo and symbol mark. The Japan Pavilion carries the theme Playing Together, Connecting: Japan Spirit of Play. The logo was designed by graphic designer Kobayashi Kazuki through a designated design competition, featuring a flower created from a single sheet of cut paper, the traditional Japanese art of kirie. The design symbolizes connection and shared joy that transcends language and cultural barriers, with seemingly separated pieces remaining unified. The pavilion creative team includes veterans of Expo Milan 2015, Expo Dubai 2021, and Expo Osaka 2025, building on the legacy of the Osaka event. Expo 2027 Belgrade runs May 15 to August 15, 2027, under the theme Play for Humanity.
