Korean trade association signs for ninth CIIE as space hits 70 percent

A promotion session for the 9th China International Import Expo was held in Seoul on 9 April 2026. The CIIE Bureau said that across the first eight editions more than 1,400 Korean company participations were recorded, occupying about 100,000 sqm of exhibition space in total. Preparations for the ninth edition are advancing steadily, with signed business exhibition space exceeding 260,000 sqm, more than 70% of the planned area. At the session the Korea International Trade Association and the Korea Innovation Centre in China signed exhibitor contracts with the CIIE Bureau. Chinese ambassador to South Korea Dai Bing said the two economies are closely linked with deeply intertwined industrial and supply chains. Bae Jun-hyung, director general for trade cooperation at the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and Jang Seok-min, executive director of the Korea International Trade Association, also spoke. About 120 representatives of Korean companies and institutions attended.
