Korea's 185 certified exhibitions drew more buyers than its 551 uncertified ones
Korea certifies exhibitions through AKEI or UFI, and in 2024 that label covered 185 of the 736 shows on the calendar. The certified group is smaller but far denser. Certified shows drew 3,802,266 visitors against 5,728,687 at the 551 uncertified shows, yet they recorded 1,584,958 buyer visits against 809,360, and 136,286 foreign visitors against 78,242. Per event the gap is sharper still: a certified show averaged 20,553 visitors, 8,567 buyers and 737 foreign visitors, against 10,397, 1,469 and 142 at an uncertified one. On floor space, certified shows took 3,032,695 square metres of total area and 989,002 of net area. Certification tracks show type closely, covering 59.2 percent of trade shows, 47.8 percent of mixed shows and 7.9 percent of consumer shows. For a company screening the Korean calendar, the certification flag is a fast proxy for buyer density, and the survey reports it alongside every other measure. Uncertified shows accounted for 4,349,655 square metres of total area and 1,382,802 of net area.
