Machinery Led China's Outbound Exhibitions in 2025 with 197 Projects as Consumer Goods and Hardware Climbed

By sector, machinery, transport and logistics, and textiles, apparel and leather goods were the three largest categories in China's outbound exhibition programme in 2025. Machinery performed strongest, rising from 168 projects in 2024 to 197 and lifting its share of the total to 15.65%; transport and logistics accounted for 150 projects, or 11.91%, and textiles, apparel and leather goods for 114, or 9.05%. Sectors closest to end consumers gained ground markedly: consumer goods jumped from 60 projects to 91, climbing from seventh place to fourth, while hardware and tools rose from 65 to 83, moving from sixth to fifth. Energy and mining entered the top ten with 37 projects, up from twelfth place a year earlier. Measured instead by exhibiting companies, the five largest sectors were general or multi-sector shows with 11,304 companies, or 23.67%; textiles, apparel and leather goods with 6,324, or 13.24%; machinery with 5,401, or 11.31%; and transport and logistics with 3,290, or 6.89%. The ten leading sectors were unchanged from 2024, though consumer goods, healthcare and chemicals each rose one place in the ranking.
