Malaysia wins hosting rights for ICOPA 2030

The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) says Malaysia has secured the hosting rights for the International Congress on Parasitology (ICOPA) 2030, to be held from 18 to 23 August 2030 at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching in Sarawak. It will be the first time the congress, held once every four years, takes place in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, with about 2,500 delegates expected. MyCEB initiated the bid in 2021, and it was won through collaboration between the Malaysian Society of Parasitology and Tropical Medicine (MSPTM), MyCEB and Business Events Sarawak. MyCEB Chief Executive Officer Tan Mei Phing said the result reflects the international community's confidence in Malaysia's ability to host major global scientific congresses.
