May 2026 Trade Performance: Exports Hit All-Time Monthly High at RM184 Billion, Trade Surplus Surges to Record RM40.38 Billion

Malaysia's May 2026 trade reached RM327.63 billion (+29.8% YoY), its fastest growth in 44 months. Exports surged 45.3% to a new monthly all-time high of RM184 billion — the fastest growth since August 2022 — while the trade surplus hit a monthly record of RM40.38 billion (73rd consecutive monthly surplus). E&E exports led with +70.5% to RM91.57 billion (49.8% of total). Jan–May 2026 trade reached RM1.455 trillion (+18.3%) with exports of RM793.84 billion.
