Messe Frankfurt and Supima Introduce Prefab, a New Curated Fabric Sourcing Event in New York City
Messe Frankfurt Inc. and Supima, the association representing growers of SUPIMA extra-long staple Pima cotton in the United States, are launching Prefab, a boutique-style curated fabric sourcing event for premium and luxury apparel brands. The first edition takes place 19 and 20 January 2027 at the Altman Building in New York City. The format is deliberately compact, with roughly 40 selected exhibitors and uniform stand presentations so that every mill receives equal visibility, prioritising fabric quality and technical expertise over floor size. The audience is narrowly defined: senior designers, fabric directors, product developers and sourcing decision-makers from premium and luxury brands. Jennifer Bacon, Vice President of Fashion and Apparel at Messe Frankfurt, said Prefab brings outstanding Supima member mills together with the people making material decisions for leading brands in a setting built for expertise and long-term partnerships. Buxton Midyette, Vice President of Marketing and Promotions at Supima, said the format gives that community a dedicated platform to present craftsmanship and innovation. Prefab sits within the Texpertise Network alongside Texworld and Apparel Sourcing, and forms part of a wider move into highly focused formats that also includes the European launch of Value Milan on 3 to 5 February 2027.
