Nearly 80 Kenyan firms have exhibited at CIIE since first edition

A seminar for the 9th China International Import Expo was held in Nairobi on 26 June 2026. Hua Wei, president of the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, said that from 1 May 2026 China applied zero tariffs across all tariff lines to 53 African countries with diplomatic relations, including Kenya, giving further policy support for African products to expand exports to China. Organisers said nearly 80 Kenyan companies have exhibited at the expo since its first edition, using the platform to enter the Chinese market.
