Ninth CIIE previews product debuts and first-time exhibitors
Marking 100 days to the 9th CIIE, organisers previewed launches planned for the Shanghai edition running 5 to 10 November 2026. Dow will stage a global debut of a water-based silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive, Michelin will give its tyre digital twin solution an Asian premiere, and GE Healthcare will show a new model of its Zhuque vascular intervention platform for the first time in China. AkzoNobel China president Yin Tao said the company values the market potential and innovation ecosystem and plans both to bring in global technology and to develop locally. Boston Scientific has had 24 products shown at the expo approved in China, including an intravascular ultrasound system now made in Shanghai for global supply. Sanofi began building a Beijing insulin API plant in January, a EUR 1 billion investment described as its largest single commitment in China, and opened an innovation and operations centre in Chengdu in March. AstraZeneca announced in January it would invest more than RMB 100 billion in China by 2030.
