Paul Miller to Lead Combined Emerald and Questex Business as Chief Executive Officer

The holding company formed to acquire Emerald Holding, Inc. and Questex, LLC in connection with the previously announced acquisitions by Apollo-managed funds has announced that Paul Miller, currently Chief Executive Officer of Questex, will lead the combined company as CEO, effective upon closing of the transaction. Emerald President and CEO Hervé Sedky will transition to the role of senior advisor to the combined business once the deal closes. Miller brings more than three decades of experience across the events, information services and media industries, with a record of building revenue streams, scaling multi-vertical platforms and driving growth through market cycles. Since taking over as CEO of Questex in 2018 he has expanded the portfolio across hospitality, travel, healthcare, life sciences, beauty and technology, integrating acquisitions and developing customer engagement capabilities powered by first-party data. Apollo Managing Director Shahid Bosan described Miller as an experienced operator who shares the vision of building a scaled, customer-centric platform at the forefront of the B2B events industry. Miller said his focus will be on combining the strengths of both organisations to capture growing demand for trusted in-person gatherings. Sedky called the combination a stronger platform defined by greater scale, deeper expertise and expanded capabilities.
