Raleigh Convention Center Takes Atlantic Union Bank Name in 15-Year Deal

The Raleigh Convention and Performing Arts Complex has named Atlantic Union Bank as the naming rights sponsor of Raleigh's convention centre, which will be renamed the Atlantic Union Bank Convention Center. The agreement runs for 15 years; its value was not disclosed. A ceremony to mark the partnership and unveil the new name is set for 27 August 2026. Since opening in 2008 the venue has welcomed more than 6 million guests and generated more than 1 billion US dollars in economic impact, and it received the International Association of Venue Managers Venue Excellence Award in 2025. The centre is undergoing a 298,100 square foot expansion adding flexible space, ballrooms and meeting rooms, which will take the total footprint to 798,100 square feet, as part of a wider downtown development that also includes a new 600-room Omni hotel, a relocated Red Hat Amphitheater and improvements to the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts. City manager Marchell Adams-David said Raleigh is one of the fastest growing cities in the country. Atlantic Union Bank president and chief operating officer Maria Tedesco said the partnership deepens the bank's relationship with the city. Complex executive director Kerry Painter called it a strategically smart move for both sides.
