SIAL Shanghai 2026 reports over USD 14 billion in intended deals

Comexposium said SIAL Shanghai closed on 20 May 2026 with intended deals again exceeding USD 14 billion, drawing professionals from 132 countries and regions. The show gathered more than 5,000 food and beverage brands from 75 countries and regions, presented over 350,000 exhibits, and saw a record 12,152 new product debuts highlighting trends such as clean labelling, food-medicine dual-purpose products and plant-based lines. Over the run, 13,978 business matching sessions were completed. Buyers ranged from leading chain supermarkets and regional distributors to traditional wholesale agents, live-stream e-commerce operators, community group-buying platforms and warehouse discount stores. Deals spanned bulk orders from multinational buyers, first overseas shipments of regional specialty products, annual contracts with supermarkets and collaborations in emerging channels. The organiser also released the 2026 New Chinese Light Food Development White Paper, and its product competition attracted 684 entries from 22 countries and regions. Comexposium said the momentum moves south to SIAL Guangzhou, opening 3 September, as it develops the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and links it to Southeast Asian markets.
