Singapore EXPO takes second consecutive EIC Gold certification, with 11.4 MWp rooftop solar meeting up to 95% of demand

Singapore EXPO achieved Gold-level certification to the EIC Sustainable Event Standards for the second consecutive year. Operated by Constellar, it is Singapore's largest purpose-built MICE venue, welcoming more than 1.5 million visitors and hosting about 400 events a year. The venue has deployed an 11.4-megawatt-peak rooftop solar photovoltaic system, one of the largest in Singapore, capable of meeting up to 95% of its electricity demand and cutting Scope 2 emissions at source. EIC said the venue has moved from standalone sustainability initiatives to an integrated operating model built on renewable energy, data-led carbon management and continuous optimisation, with carbon tracking across Scopes 1, 2 and 3. Its framework aligns with the Singapore Green Plan 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The EIC standards assess performance across organisational management; marketing, communications and engagement; climate action; water management; materials and circularity; supply chain management; diversity, equity and inclusion; accessibility; and social impact. Singapore EXPO scored strongly on climate action, organisational management and operational performance. Ian Gan, Vice President for Centre Management and Sustainability at Constellar, said the repeat certification shows sustainability at the venue is deeply embedded, consistently delivered and independently validated.
