SMM 2026 Opens

Hamburg Messe und Congress says SMM 2026 got under way on its Hamburg exhibition grounds the previous day and runs until Friday, with the halls full and conversations intensive. The maritime trade fair brings together around 2,300 exhibitors from 70 countries, with 50,000 participants from 120 nations expected and the exhibition halls completely booked out. Over four days the agenda covers shipping and shipbuilding through to digital technologies, alternative propulsion, safety and resilience, reflecting an industry in transition. According to the organiser, what makes SMM special is the combination of the innovations shown at the stands with the exchange between companies, associations, politics, science and maritime organisations from around the world.
