Swiss live communication firms outsourced work abroad at the same rate they won foreign orders

Cross-border work runs in both directions for Switzerland's live communication industry, and at almost the same volume. Of the 105 firms answering, 30 percent handed work to companies abroad in the past two years, up 13 points on the 2024 survey, and 29 percent took on orders abroad themselves, up 5 points. Among the 31 firms that outsourced abroad, event technology was the most common category on 45 percent, followed by transport and logistics on 36 percent, down 21 points, staff and freelancers on 36 percent, down 14 points, advertising technology on 23 percent, up 16 points, and stand construction and stage and rigging work on 16 percent each. The reasons are led by supply rather than price. 65 percent named services not available in Switzerland, up 15 points, while events taking place abroad and lower costs were each cited by 52 percent. Faster delivery was named by 19 percent and better quality by 16 percent. Work coming the other way, reported by 30 firms, is even more concentrated: event technology at 53 percent, then transport and logistics and stand construction at 17 percent each. Firms could give more than one answer.
