Taiwan-Palau Trade Breakthrough: TAITRA Leads 33 Firms to Palau, Showcasing Green Transport and Smart Tourism
Commissioned by Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, TAITRA organized the 2026 Taiwan-Palau Commodity and Cultural Exhibition in Airai State, Palau from July 10–12, leading 33 Taiwanese companies including Giant Manufacturing. The exhibition, held for the fifth consecutive year, marked a strategic upgrade from a standard trade fair to a comprehensive platform for exporting integrated Taiwanese solutions. Key focus areas included green transport — deploying bicycle ecosystem solutions aligned with Palau's bicycle-friendly city policy — maritime communications technology, and smart leisure facilities including an AI golf simulator zone. Taiwan's Ambassador Chen Gang-yi noted that bilateral trade surged 75% in 2025, reaching USD 14.8 million, underscoring the exhibition's role as a critical trade promotion platform. Palau President Surangel Whipps Jr. attended the opening ceremony alongside 25 senior officials and business leaders, affirming the strong bilateral partnership.
