Taiwan Delegation at Paraguay Expo 2026 Reaches Record Size with 28 Companies

Taiwan's participation in the 2026 Paraguay Expo reached a record high, with 28 companies joining the delegation, including 23 physical exhibitors. TAITRA organised the pavilion to help Taiwanese firms enter Paraguay and broader South American markets. In sustainable agriculture, Qungeng Agriculture and Jusheng Oils participated for the first time and are in preliminary cooperation talks with Paraguay's Ministry of Agriculture, facilitated by Taiwan's technical mission in Asuncion. In biotech and healthcare, Bioguard Biotechnology announced the establishment of its South American subsidiary, Bioguard Corporation LATAM, in Asuncion, marking a milestone for Taiwanese veterinary biotech in Latin America. Taiwan's Lidern pain-relief products attracted a major Argentine pharmaceutical company, resulting in regional distribution negotiations and listings at local chain pharmacies. Taiwan-Paraguay bilateral trade totalled USD 406 million in 2025, up 66.78% year on year and more than five times the level before the Economic Cooperation Agreement took effect in 2018.
