UBRAFE Highlights Near R$30 Billion Economic Impact of Events in Brazil, Urges Passage of Industry Regulatory Framework

UBRAFE (Brazilian Association of Exhibition Organizers) has released data showing that the events industry in Brazil generates nearly R$30 billion in total economic impact annually. Sao Paulo B2B events alone contribute R$14 billion per year, attracting 8 million visitors across approximately 270 event days. Other major events also show significant impact: Rio Carnival generates R$5.9 billion, Pernambuco Carnival R$3.7 billion, and Rock in Rio R$2.9 billion. Alongside these figures, UBRAFE is advocating for the passage of the Marco Regulatorio de Eventos (PL 1905/2026), a proposed regulatory framework bill that would formalize the legal status of the events industry, protect workers and organizers, and provide a stable foundation for long-term growth. UBRAFE President Paulo Ventura stated that events are development vectors generating employment, promoting destinations, and strengthening supply chains across Brazil.
